You are currently viewing Canadian Ultra Low-Cost Carrier Announces 10 New US Routes

If you like flying to warm destinations during the cold Canadian winter but all-inclusive vacations aren’t for you, there’s good news.

If you have been following Flytrippers for a while, you know how much we love cheap flights.

You know we also love ultra low-cost carriers (ULCCs). This new (new to Canada that is) business model allows those who are willing to travel light to fly for less than ever before.

The cheapest prices on our flight deals page are often on ULCCs (but not always: only a few of our many daily deals are on ULCC and they’re clearly marked with “ULCC” in the bottom right corner when it is the case).

We’ve told you about Ultra Low-Cost Carriers and about Flair Airlines specifically a few times already, so we won’t go over that again. You can find more details in the links below.

Let’s check our where you’ll be able to fly to at a lower price this winter (starting December 15th) thanks to these new routes.

From Toronto

Flair will compete indirectly with the new South Florida (Fort Lauderdale) route announced out of Hamilton Airport by the other ULCC, Swoop.

New route:

Toronto-Miami

Swoop has a few other US destinations from Hamilton though.

From Winnipeg

Moving West, in Winnipeg Flair will take advantage of Swoop deciding not to offer US flights from the area (for now at least).

New routes:

Winnipeg-Las Vegas
Winnipeg-Phoenix/Mesa
Winnipeg-Orlando
Winnipeg-St.Pete/Clearwater
Winnipeg-Miami

From Edmonton

Finally, the luckiest of all Canadian travelers are in Edmonton. Why? Flair moved their HQ there and Swoop made it its second base of operations, meaning both Canadian ULCCs plan to offer lots of cheap flights.

New routes:

Edmonton-Las Vegas (starts Nov. 9)
Edmonton-Palm Springs
Edmonton-Phoenix/Mesa
Edmonton-Orlando
Edmonton-Miami

These are in addition to the routes already announced by Swoop.

Re ULCC carriers from Hamilton to ft lauderdale. Do you clear customs/immigration in US or Hamilton?

In the US. Unlike Toronto-Pearson, Hamilton does not have US Customs Pre-Clearance facilities.
